Remembering the Apollo 1 Crew

Remembering the Apollo 1 Crew: On Jan. 27, 1967, veteran astronaut Gus Grissom, first American spacewalker Ed White and rookie Roger Chaffee (left-to-right) were preparing for what was to be the first manned Apollo flight. The astronauts were sitting atop the launch pad for a pre-launch test when a fire broke out in their Apollo capsule. The investigation into the fatal accident

Hearing this audio at the point of when the fire started at the 1:05 mark gave me chills.  They will never be forgotten as well as for those who lost their lives prior to and after.

Missiles, Solid Fueled: "Solid Punch" pt1-2 circa 1962 "The Big Picture"...

"The Falcon 9 attempted landing after successful launch from Vandenberg on ship platform failure".

I watched the launch on the web and it was a picture perfect flight.  Too bad that one of the legs on the first stage return rocket did not deploy completely which lead to it tipping over on landing and erupted.
I am sure that Space X will eventually get it corrected.

Blue Origins rocket has not had this issue yet, however they have not attempted a landing on a ship platform yet.

Flis Kits Nantucket Sound

The Nantucket Sound rocket kit from Flis Kits is a fun model rocket.  I look forward to launching it once I have completed the painting.

Flis Kits ROCK

I really enjoy building the Fli kit rockets.  They remind of how the hobby of rocketry used to be.  creative and it requires time and attention to detail of building creative designs.  They are really fun.  Oddl rockets has some cool kits too.
